Recently, the C.I.A. (yes, THAT C.I.A.) began running commercials on radio actively recruiting new hires to the Clandestine Services Division. If that weren’t odd enough in itself, the spot ends with the pronouncement that the C.I.A. is “an equal opportunity employer.” I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want regarding personnel tasked with covertly gathering intelligence used to protect this nation and its citizens is for them to be the product of equal opportunity employment standards. Surely the government MUST be joking. I want our spooks to be UN-equal in the extreme.

A Continued Observance…

So, now we learn in recent news reports (as of the first week of December, 2011) that there is a surplus of gasoline here in the good ol’ US of A. And we have excess refining capacity. So much so that we are now exporting gasoline to places like Brazil and Argentina. The average price of a gallon of gas here at home is still well over $3 per gallon and we’re shipping the stuff overseas. It becomes harder and harder to buy the line that current high costs are the result of supply and demand market forces or that it all comes down to the political uncertainty in many of the oil producing Middle Eastern countries.

I’m beginning to come around to the position that we’re getting nailed to the wall just because those swinging the hammer know that they can do it.

Your reality is daily fabricated and directed by those who will avail themselves of every opportunity to do just that. Think about it: how happy would you be right now if you discovered a filling station near your home where you could buy gasoline for $2.50 per gallon? Would you think this is great or would you recognize that this is insane!?
